About Us

ArtHouse Live was formed in 2006 with one primary purpose - to create strong theater experiences for a new audience of theatergoers on the Eastern Shore. Given the successful track record of the group's founders, it wasn't a surprise that Brandon Hesson, Mark Mangold and Tim Weigand were able to accomplish that goal and produce three strong shows in their inaugural season. What was a surprise - as much to them as to their appreciative public - was the enormous wealth of talent that turned out to support their cause. 2006 found the group working with over twenty new actors - many of whom were either professionals, professionally trained, or recent graduates from arts programs - and the potential for the level, quality and volume of production the group is now capable of has increased exponentially.

In addition to producing Life is Short, Talk Radio and Proof in 2006 ArtHouse Live also presented an original short film, a staged reading and a monologue competition in 2006 and plans are in the works for the group to pursue more original works in a variety of multimedia going forward. As a result of a vastly succesful 2006, and years ahead of schedule, ArtHouse Live has announced its inaugral ensemble. Joining old friends Vin Brown, Erik Higgins and Jo Tanner Bantum are Kate Bernstein, Michael Kafka, Jackie Kinney, Basil Tydings, Adrienne Shostak, Jeff Perry and Casey Stork. Their contributions and their own artistic endeavors will (and in some cases already have) push the group into new territories and past the group's original intentions. If 2006 is any indication, it ought to be pretty good.
